Kingsfield Hanger 5 - RAF Hercules 0
"Oh Dear said the fat contoller" look what the nasty Hercules did to the hanger. An apprehensive Ron Bowers and other officers watch the departing Hercules. The famous runaway Hercules at Kingsfield Airstrip, Dhekalia, Cyprus 1974 following repair by 103MU. Guaranteed for 50 miles or 20minutes flying time back to Akrotiri for completion of repairs

Not a sight one normally sees on an airfield as the Herc leaves rather Sheepishly !!!!!!!!

The hangar at Kingsfield which the Herc tried to demolish photographed in 2002 with the repair patches still visible. The Hanger is still used by The Crusaders Gliding Club.
